Will we save or destroy our planet? Can we make a difference?

I have just read and signed the petition: "The U.S. House Must Act on Global Warming This Year!"

We all remember Hurricane Katrina, and as An Inconvenient Truth pointed out, we know that the global climate change is caused by things we can change and avoid such as the use of dirty fuels. Our government needs to start working towards a healthier planet or there will be more hurricanes, droughts, rising tides that will threaten coastal cities, and other such dangerous events related to global climate change. Apparently many still believe the lie that this is some sort of hoax even after losing so many lives in Hurricane Katrina. We need our politicians to act now.

What we do in the next 10 years will make all the difference. We need a Presidential candidate who will take steps to improve how we treat our world, lessen the use of dirty fossil fuels, and help move us towards a healthier planet.
